Cast Iron Skillet Blackened Tilapia

Ingredients:

● 2-4 tilapia fillets

● 1 ¼ teaspoons paprika

● 1 ½ teaspoons garlic powder

● 1 ½ teaspoons onion powder

● 1 teaspoon oregano

● 1 teaspoon thyme

● 1 teaspoon black pepper

● 1 ½ teaspoons salt

● ¼ teaspoon cayenne pepper

● 1 tsp brown sugar

● 4 tablespoons butter

● Lime wedges


Instructions:

1. Mix together all seasonings.

2. Turn on oven to preheat to 425, throw skillet in oven to preheat.

3. Melt butter.

4. Coat fillets in butter, drip off excess.

5. Coat both sides of the fillet in the seasoning mixture.

6. When the oven is preheated, remove the skillet.

7. Add leftover butter to the hot skillet.

8. Add fillets to the skillet.

9. Bake at 425 degrees for 12-14 minutes.

10. Plate fillet and sprinkle with lime juice.
